Oh how I wish I could answer this question well. I actually just joined a band today, so I’m gonna be working on that myself. Truth is, there’s no equation or trick to becoming a well known band, selling out shows and getting screaming fans. Like I’ve said before, the music industry is mainly connections and luck. Some artists have that “right place, right time” kind of deal, and others are playing local venues to 50 fans their entire lives. As soon as you understand that, how difficult it’s going to be, how many odds are against you, and how long it’s going to take, the better off you’ll be. Part of the trick is understanding that but having the will, talent, and integrity to give it 110% anyway, every step.

As far as making a concert awesome, have huge amounts of energy, crowd interaction, and as much entertainment as possible. Worst case, people don’t like your music, but they find you fun to see and they spread the word about you anyway. Give them something memorable to walk away with, and good things will come your way.
